Arrival

Well, after convocation, looking for housing in London, and flying half-way around the world starting in Kingston, I arrived in Sydney. After customs, quarantine and picking up my pack, I set off into Sydney to find my first hostel, Sydney Central YHA. I had a continental breakfast and already have met 2 people who are planning to do something similar to myself (travel up the east coast to find work, etc.) Today myself and 4 others bought a Day Tripper to be able to use the bus, train and ferries. We first went to Circular Quay in the Sydney harbour, then took the ferry around to Manly, and from there watched the surfers at Manly beach. There was also a Wine festival going on, and live music. After, we went to the Royal Botanical gardens and saw many species of plants, such as ferns, figs and eucalypts. We then tried to get to a rugby match but missed the ferry to the Olympic park and were too late. We went back to the hostel, found a cheap place to have dinner and made our way to Darling harbour, were, with more bad luck we missed a chunk of the fireworks that were on there. The rest of the night was spent at Scruffy Murfy's, a pub were we had a lot of beer and were entertained by drag-queen careoke. Well, I managed to stay awake the day, and hopefully i'll be set on Aussie time soon!
